Video Poker is a popular game that can be enjoyed in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, through a web account. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the best mixture of cards as you can in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the enthusiast inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the player has chosen which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful bettors are agile enough to choose the most profitable game every instance.

Once the initial round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the enthusiast an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
